Based in London, England, ComputerAid International recycles donated computers for use in schools and community projects in Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe and the Caribbean. Launched in 1998 - by January 2000 Computer Aid had sent over 3,000 computers to 19 different countries. |

The Chiapas Media Project is a bi-national partnership that provides tools and training so that marginalized indigenous communities can establish their own information outlets. The project provides video cameras and editing equipment along with appropriate training so that communities in Chiapas can tell their own stories in their own words. The project will also provide computer technology and training so that the communities can establish and maintain their own web sites. Eventually, the web sites will have the capacity to upload both recorded and real time video. |
